CULTURAL ARCHIVE + COLLECTING
Collecting is inherently both a passive and an active action. Objects collect of time, often whether we want them to or not, and people collection objects, often obsessively. These objects are stored in boxes, curated and displayed on shelves, or even incorporated into daily use. Sometimes we see them as stuff, sometimes we don't even notice them anymore even though they surround us.
What constitutes a collection?
Is it the intention to collect that makes it so? A collection's worth may be determined by it's cultural relevance, or it's value - purely sentimental. There is beauty in connecting objects based on intention, shape, color, and memories.
