Kaspar Heinrici of Treibdesign was invited to be a visiting artist for one week in the print studio at the Wassaic Project to create a limited edition series. The pattern Kaspar chose was inspired by a color sketch of a fortified castle, drawn in Osaka, Japan in December 2017. While Zack and Kaspar spent the week printing in the old barn where the studio was located, I documented the process, from concept to signing off on the edition. The print was made using both digitally printed and hand painted films to make custom screens, colors were hand mixed, the four color separation process mapped out, and paper hand cut. There was a lot of trouble shooting during the printing process, which always makes for a great visual story.
